Ques/Help Banner at the top of each page of a thread?

Hi,

I have some long rambling threads of several dozen pages over many months, but which still contain useful information in places.

I would like to steer visitors away from such threads to a later more concise thread with updated information.

Is it possible to add a banner which appears at the top of each page of a thread, advising visitors that a later thread exists, with a link to it?
