Bug Child style has no variations when parent becomes disabled (if user had previously chosen parent)

If there is parent style (default) and a child style both have variations and both available for user selection

Steps to reproduce:

• User chooses the parent style
• Subsequently you admin then make child the default and disable the parent for user selection
• User's style automatically switches to the child (as the only available style), but it has no variations.

If you re-enable parent for users and they then choose child, then you disable parent it all seems to work
