XenForo Emojis missing (people/nature/food/activity/travel/objects/symbols/flags)

Hi guys,

At some point last week the above emojis stopped showing (smilies still working) - initially even though they were'nt showing but they could be clicked and show in a message - now they don't show and do nothing.

I haven't added or changed anything on the site for some time other than an update of xf software recently.

What i've tried so far:

• disable all addons and try default style - no change
• ran php cmd.php xf:convert-utf8mb4 - result 'no convertible tables found'...
