Ques/Help List sibling and child nodes -- should it show both types?

If I have both options checked, it will show like this screenshot.

Those are the sibling nodes. No child nodes.

If I only have sibling nodes checked, it still shows those because they are sibling nodes so that makes sense.

If I only have child nodes checked, it shows the child nodes instead:
