Ques/Help MySQL full text minimum word length - now with less than 4 characters?

Hi,

Has anything change with searching the minimum word length? I don't use ES, but I just noticed today I can search for words with less than 4 characters. Not sure when this change actually happened, but I know I haven't changed anything.

I do have this setting:

But this was not working due to limitations. Now it is suddenly working and this is great! Was there any change with MySQL full-text search and my host updated it?

I can't find anything about that.
