This is affecting 2.3 and can be replicated here on XF using up to date Chrome Version 127.0.6533.120 (Official Build) (64-bit).
I'm unsure if it matters where the list is, but for this bug report, it's the first in a post.

If you reply/quote the last item in the list by double clicking it to select the text, it will appear to select a random word to reply/quote to. In the case above, "longer".
