For some reason, unapproved, invalid users can post. For example, I have a user that is awaiting approval
But user can still post although my unregistered usergroup has posting to threads disabled.
I do have "writing before registering" enabled. Perhaps when users are being promoted to registered, they can for some reason override the function "when a user state other than 'valid', users will receive permissions from unregistered group."
