XenForo Way to mark specific threads read or unread?

Users asking for all kinds of crazy things today.. "is there a way to mark specific threads as read rather than the whole forum?"

I saw an add-on but it didn't work as I don't think it's been updated to 2.3. Just wondering if there are any other ways? Seems like giving users the edit box that moderators have to mark threads as read or unread in bulk, get notified about specific threads, ignore threads, etc. would be awesome but just throwing out those other parts.
